Pentecost weekend in Ryfylke 2022
Pentecost weekend is one of many beautiful weekends this spring. We left home Friday noon, heading north and then east, to Hjelmeland. This is a little town and the centre of a municipality that has islands, deep fjords and high mountains. Going ashore and walking around is always nice when we come to a new…
Liten tur til Rossøy 1. mai 2022
Så fin sundags- og 1. mai morgon! Måtte berre ut på sjøen ein liten tur før hjartemarsj seinare på dagen. Eg tenkte berre å gå ein sakte tur for motor rundt Fogn, kanskje. Men i Rossøysundet var der god plass ved brygga og det frista med ein tur opp på toppen. Her er det vidt…
Sunday June 5 A short sail in light winds just around the island. I am so happy with the new sails. With the right trim upwind, she just stays on course on her own. I don’t need to touch the wheel for a long time. And the other tack: Karmøy and Kvitsøy, May 25 –…
Tucked in for the rest of the winter Rig is down for check up and overhaul. New sails scheduled to arrive from Gran Sails in February, in time for new season. Happy new sailing year 😊 End of season Sunday November 13. A two hour sail together with Olav Wilhelmsen, experienced and merited sailor. Probably…
Reaching in a good SE breeze. Both sails, 6-7 knots. Wonderful!
We had a nice sail to Kvitsøy Sunday to Tuesday 5-7 July. I love these island communities on the outer coast. Rough and protected at the same time. Here people have found a living for hundreds and thousands of years.
Evening sail in June
Sailing around Finnoy on an evening in late June. Steady NNW breeze. Sky is clearing up in the west. And soon: summer vacation 🙂
Sailing home from Bergen
From Bergen and home I sailed alone. Followed the Tall Ships fleet out of Bergen Sunday afternoon, then sailed south to Austevoll, where I stayed over until Monday. Now the weather had changed, bringing wind (and rain and thunder), but it meant I could sail! The wind was fair also when I continued between Stord…

Thursday 24. July – Bulandet to Solund
Also Bulandet was covered in fog as we woke up, and it did not clear until late afternoon. We left at six. There was a light breeze from NNW, so we could sail to Færøy. There the wind died and we motored across to the outer sound at Solund. Tried to anchor in a bay…
